It is important that we offer pupils:
New inspiration – You could be providing the single inspirational moment that changes the direction of a pupils life
Motivation – Pupil see subjects are relevant to the real world and therefore why it’s important to study them
Here are a few simple things that you can do:
Create a careers corner in your classroom
Create careers displays within your faculty area
Include pathways a pupil could take at ages 16 and 18
Highlight essential skills that link to activites
Could you frame your lesson with a job role or job sector?
Display websites & events
Be personal, share your own education and career journey
Build relationships with parents, businesses & organisations
Invite alumni!
