Hi everyone, I’m Amber – I’ll be your Aimhigher Ambassador at Balaam Wood this year. I work with the University of Birmingham to raise aspirations and support students in making informed decisions about their future. Whatever pathway a student is considering, we’ll be running a range of bespoke workshops, trips, mentoring and assemblies to help them be confident in their choice. You can find me in the Careers Office on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s. I’m looking forward to a great year!
The national collaborative outreach programme (NCOP) aims to support the most disadvantaged young people in England to progress into higher education. This programme will give pupil’s at Balaam Wood Academy a range of opportunities to discover what higher education is available to them from apprenticeships through to University. Pupils will have the opportunity to engage with a number of organisations both at school and on visits. This programme is available to pupils in Year 9-11.
Hello Parents and Carers! We have created a series of presentations to provide information relating to the Aimhigher programme and Higher Education / University. The second presentation focuses on the post-16 options available to your child, including A-Levels, BTECs, and Apprenticeships.
