House Points

When you start at King Edward VI Balaam Wood Academy you will join one of our Houses. Our House system is an integral part of every academy day. We have three Houses, each with its own House Champions from the staff and Pupil House Captains. Their task is to motivate and enthuse the pupils within their respective House and play a full and active part in the inter-house competitions. Our three houses are: Barber, Malala and Zephaniah.

Dear Parents and Carers,

We want to make you aware of a reported incident involving a pupil from a local secondary school in the Rednal area yesterday.

The pupil acted appropriately by informing a trusted adult immediately, and the matter has been reported to the police, who are investigating.

As always, we encourage families to remind children about stranger awareness and personal safety when travelling to and from school, including:

Our safeguarding team are aware of the situation and appropriate advice is being reinforced with pupils in school. We are sharing this information as a precautionary reminder for families to remain vigilant, rather than to cause concern and ask that regular conversations regarding safety continue at home as well. Should there be any further information or guidance from the police, we will update you accordingly.

Thank you for your continued support as always.

Yours sincerely,

King Edward VI Balaam Wood Academy
