The Performing Arts department consists of Drama, Music, Peripatetic provision and where possible Dance. It aims to allow all pupils to embrace a wide cultural capital both in the West Midlands and further afield, visiting performances and sharing work within the community. Communication and expression underpin all of the work in and around our classroom-based provision, building on confidence, independence and organisation. We aim to inspire pupils to a lifelong love of the Performing Arts.
Our Performing Arts curriculum is underpinned by our core values of being:
Bold… committed to academic excellence and a love of performance, being able to confidently explore their own passions and those of others.
Ambitious…Performing Arts pupils who are guided to realise their creative ideas and gain technical abilities to communicate, negotiate, rehearse and improve
Collaborative…learning involves working together and Performance based learning advocates, team work, mutual respect, good attitudes, listening and acting on others’ opinions and feedback
Kind…. Respecting each other and being able to peer and self-evaluate and celebrate success
